Successful candidates will be working with our teams in-country across two projects: Street Child Commercial and Street Child’s Family Business Schemes.

Street Child Commercial is a social enterprise that creates profits to help fund our programmes in that country. In Sierra Leone, this business consists of bars and restaurants, run by our local team. In Uganda, we are looking to launch a social enterprise from scratch. As a volunteer, you will be supporting in the day to day running of the businesses, as well as investigating potential growth and launch strategies.

Our Family Business Scheme is a programme that enables caregivers to create a sustainable income so they can send their children to school. You will be adding capacity to our local partners as well as researching and developing new programmes related to small businesses and vocational training.


  • Considerable initiative, project management skills and business acumen.

  • A degree or relevant experience in market research or business management

  • Keen interest in social enterprise and international development

  • Professional and diligent in presentation and conduct

  • Flexible, adaptable and able to thrive in a startup environment

  • Thoughtful, resourceful, reflective, and eager to learn

  • Culturally responsive and respectful

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
